The Neilsen 18mm Single Injection Insulated VDE Socket is an essential tool for professional electricians and technicians working on live or potentially live electrical systems. It delivers reliable torque and high-voltage safety in a durable, single-injection design; however, users must ensure it is used only with compatible 1/2-inch drive insulated ratchets to maintain its safety rating.

Yes, it is VDE certified for use on electrical installations, provided it is used in conjunction with other VDE-rated tools.
While it will fit, it is strongly recommended to use only insulated ratchets to maintain the safety standards required for electrical work.
It is made of high-strength industrial steel protected by a robust, non-conductive single-injection insulation layer.
Sockets do not require calibration, but they should be inspected periodically for structural damage.
This is a standard VDE socket; it is not specifically rated for use with high-impact power tools, which may damage the insulation.
Verify that the fastener is exactly 18mm; if the fastener head is worn, consider using a different drive tool or extractors.
Small surface scuffs may be acceptable, but any deep gouges that reveal the base metal necessitate tool retirement.
Check the 1/2-inch square drive for debris or metal shards and ensure the ratchet's locking mechanism is functioning correctly.
To ensure safety, this socket should only be paired with `1/2 inch` drive VDE-certified ratchets or extensions. Before each use, perform a visual inspection of the outer insulation; if you notice any cuts, chips, or cracks, the socket must be replaced immediately, as the insulating properties are compromised. Store the tool in a dry environment and clean it with a mild, non-abrasive detergent to prevent the buildup of conductive dust or contaminants.
