Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Select the appropriate quick-change clamp arms (long or short) based on the pulley depth.
- Attach the clamp arms to the puller body.
- Position the puller onto the auxiliary drive belt pulley, ensuring the toothed clamps engage securely with the pulley's ribs.
- Select the correct force screw or end pin adaptor for the pulley shaft.
- Screw the force screw into the puller body until it contacts the shaft.
Lubrication: Before each use, ensure the force screw and clamping arms are well lubricated with molybdenum disulphide grease. This is critical for smooth operation and to prevent wear.
Compatibility: This tool is designed for ribbed auxiliary drive belt pulleys commonly found on Ford, Citroen, Peugeot, and some Volvo vehicles. It is compatible with pulleys on water pumps, alternators, air conditioning systems, and crankshafts.
Care:
- Clean the tool after each use to remove grease and debris.
- Store in a dry place to prevent rust.
- Regularly inspect clamps and screws for wear or damage. Replace parts if necessary.
- Re-apply lubricant as needed, especially before extended periods of storage.
