Full details

Designed for carp anglers who demand precision in their presentation, the Parker Baits Match The Hatch Wafters in OG Fish offer a sophisticated, semi-buoyant hookbait solution that perfectly mimics the visual profile of your free offerings. These 14mm dumpy dumbbells are ideal for fooling wary carp by providing a stronger food signal than standard bait while maintaining a natural appearance; however, anglers should note that manual buoyancy testing in the water is essential before casting to ensure the presentation is perfectly balanced for their specific rig setup.

FAQs

How many baits are in each tub?

Each tub of Parker Baits Match The Hatch Wafters contains a minimum of 35 hookbaits.

Do I need to add extra weight to the rig?

Depending on the hook size used, you may need to add a small amount of rig putty to balance the presentation perfectly.

What is the best way to attach these wafters?

We recommend the bait flossing method to securely attach the wafter to the hook without damaging the integrity of the bait.

Are these suitable for all water temperatures?

Yes, the high-quality enzymes and attractors are designed to be effective throughout the year, though you should always test buoyancy as water density can change with temperature.

What happens to the coating on the lake bed?

The coating is designed to break down slowly, releasing the salts, kelp, and crushed hemp to create an attractive cloud around your hookbait.

Troubleshooting

Bait sinks to the bottom completely

Your hook may be too heavy; try a lighter wire gauge or a slightly smaller hook size.

Bait floats too far off the bottom

Add a small piece of rig putty to the hook link or move to a larger, heavier hook to pin the bait down.

Bait falls off the rig during casting

Ensure the bait floss is pulled tight and consider using a slightly smaller loop to secure the dumbbell.

Pros and Cons

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To achieve the perfect balanced presentation, we strongly recommend pairing these 14mm wafters with a size 4 thick wire hook. The preferred method for attaching these baits is via the bait flossing method, which ensures the bait remains secure during the cast without compromising its buoyancy.

Always perform a 'margin test' before finalizing your rig in the water. Drop your hook and wafter into the edge of the lake to observe how it sits on the bottom; if it floats too high, you may need a slightly larger hook or a small piece of rig putty, and if it sinks too quickly, consider a lighter wire hook. Store your tub in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to maintain the potency of the attractor dust.
