The Shires Double Jointed Pelham with Sweet Iron Mouth is designed to assist with control. The jointed mouthpiece lessens the nutcracker action, and the copper and sweet iron encourage a softer feel in the horse's mouth. Raised copper ribs help prevent the horse from taking too much of a hold. This bit works on the poll, corners, bars, tongue, and chin groove. Mouthpiece thickness: 16mm. Cheek height: 135mm. Available in 4.5", 5.0", 5.5" or 6.0".
