Product Information
Full details
The RidgeMonkey Nite Glo Bait Spoon is designed for carp and coarse anglers who require a reliable, high-visibility tool for handling various bait types, including boilies, pellets, and maggots. It excels at keeping hands clean while loading delivery devices like Spombs or bait boats, though its fixed, non-perforated design means it is intended for dry or semi-dry bait mixtures rather than draining liquid-heavy spod mixes.

FAQs
Is the spoon dishwasher safe?
While the plastic is robust, we recommend hand washing with warm water and mild detergent to preserve the integrity of the glow-in-the-dark material.
Can this be used for frozen bait?
It is intended for scooping bait; however, we advise against using it as a chisel for solid, frozen blocks of bait to avoid potential breakage.
How long does the glow last?
The glow duration depends on the intensity of the light used to charge it, typically lasting for several hours after a full charge.
Does the handle float?
The spoon is designed for strength, but it is not specifically engineered to be buoyant. Be careful when using it directly over deep water.
Is the material BPA free?
Yes, the plastic used in RidgeMonkey construction is food-grade safe and durable for standard angling applications.
Troubleshooting
The spoon is not glowing in the dark.
The Nite Glo material needs to be charged by exposure to natural light or a bright LED headlamp. Shine your light on the spoon for 30 seconds to activate the glow.
Bait is sliding off the scoop.
Ensure the spoon is being used for dry or semi-dry particles. If using very wet or soupy mixes, use a consistent, steady motion to prevent slippage.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- High-visibility material glows in low light
- Extremely durable one-piece molded construction
- Keeps hands free from bait residue and odors
- Ergonomic handle provides a secure, comfortable grip
- Ideal size for loading Spombs and bait boats
Cons
- Non-perforated design does not allow for liquid drainage
- Fixed handle length cannot be extended
- Requires exposure to light to charge the Nite Glo feature
Setup, Compatibility & Care
The bait spoon requires no assembly; it is ready to use immediately out of the package. It is compatible with almost all standard fishing bait buckets and is sized specifically for standard delivery devices like Spombs.
To ensure the longevity of the product:
- Cleaning: Rinse the spoon with fresh water after each session to remove bait oils and residues.
- Storage: Store the spoon in a dry place. While it is durable, avoid using it to chip away at frozen blocks of bait, as extreme physical force could stress the handle.
- Nite Glo Maintenance: Keep the spoon in an area where it can periodically receive light to keep the glow function fully charged.
