Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is free from loose debris, dust, and excessive grime. While the sealant adheres to wet and oily surfaces, basic cleaning will ensure optimal adhesion and longevity.
- Application: Cut the nozzle to the desired bead size. Apply using a standard sealant gun, ensuring consistent pressure for an even bead.
Compatibility:
This sealant is compatible with a wide range of common construction substrates including:
- Treated and untreated timber
- Brick and concrete
- Plastics
- Most metals
- Stone
- Glass
- Asphaltic materials
It adheres well to both porous and non-porous surfaces.
Care:
- Cleaning: Fresh, uncured sealant can be cleaned with a solvent or damp cloth. Once cured, it must be removed mechanically (e.g., by scraping).
- Recoating: For best results and to ensure proper adhesion of subsequent paint layers, recoat within 24-48 hours if necessary.
- Curing: Allow the sealant to fully cure before exposing it to heavy rain or extreme conditions. Check the product packaging for specific curing times, which can vary based on temperature and humidity.
