Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Unpack the printer and remove all protective packaging materials.
- Install the included printer ribbon following the instructions in the setup guide.
- Connect the power cable and the appropriate interface cable (Parallel, Serial, or USB) to your computer.
- Load paper, either continuous fanfold or single sheets, according to the feed mechanism instructions.
- Install the printer drivers from the provided CD or download them from the Epson support website.
- Perform a test print to confirm setup.
Compatibility:
The LX-350 supports a wide range of Windows operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions). It features standard Parallel, RS-232 (Serial), and USB 2.0 interfaces, ensuring broad compatibility with most desktop and laptop computers. Ensure your operating system is listed in the specifications for optimal driver support.
Care:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals. Keep the print head area free of dust and debris.
- Ribbon Replacement: Replace the ribbon when print quality degrades or when the printer indicates a low ribbon status. Use only genuine Epson ribbons for optimal performance and longevity.
- Paper Jams: Clear paper jams promptly by following the on-screen prompts or manual instructions. Never force paper through the printer.
- Maintenance: Periodically check and clean the paper path and rollers. Refer to the user manual for detailed maintenance procedures.
