Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup: Upon receiving your Trek Checkpoint ALR 4, professional assembly is recommended to ensure all components are correctly installed and adjusted. This typically includes attaching the handlebars, seatpost, pedals, and front wheel, along with brake and derailleur tuning.
Compatibility: The bike is compatible with standard 700c wheels and can accommodate tires up to 50mm wide. It features mounts for racks and fenders, enhancing its utility for commuting and touring. Drivetrain compatibility is primarily with Shimano's CUES U8000 series components. Standard pedals and bottle cages can be fitted.
Care and Maintenance: Regularly clean the bike frame and components with mild soap and water. Inspect tires for wear and pressure. Keep the drivetrain clean and lubricated, especially after riding in wet or dusty conditions. Have brakes and gears checked periodically by a qualified mechanic. Store the bike in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
