FAQs

What size light bulb should I use?

You should use a light bulb with a maximum wattage of 11W. The shade is compatible with B22/BC, E14/SES, and E27/ES fittings, and the appropriate bulb type (e.g., LED) should be chosen based on the socket type.

Does the light bulb come with the shade?

No, the light bulb is not included with the shade and must be purchased separately.

Can I use this shade on any lamp?

Yes, thanks to the reversible gimbal and included shade reducer ring, it can be used on most table lamps, floor lamps, and hanging pendant light fittings with B22/BC, E14/SES, or E27/ES sockets.

How do I clean the shade?

Dust the shade regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid using harsh chemicals.

What are the dimensions of the shade?

The shade measures 19cm in height (excluding the tassels) and has a diameter of 36cm.

Is the embroidery on the shade machine-made?

The description indicates handmade embroidered trims, meaning slight variations are natural and part of the charm of a handcrafted item.

What does 'reversible gimbal' mean?

A reversible gimbal means the shade can be easily adapted to fit either a standard pendant light fitting (hanging from the ceiling) or a table/floor lamp that has a bulb holder pointing upwards.

Troubleshooting

Shade does not fit the bulb holder.

Ensure you are using the correct shade reducer ring for your specific bulb fitting (B22/BC, E14/SES, or E27/ES). Check that the shade is seated correctly on the lamp harp or pendant fitting.

Light appears too dim.

The shade is designed for ambient lighting and has a maximum wattage of 11W. Consider using a brighter compatible LED bulb within the 11W limit or use the shade as an accent light.

Tassels are uneven or creased.

Gently comb through the tassels with your fingers to straighten them. For persistent creases, a very low heat setting on a hairdryer from a distance might help, but test on an inconspicuous area first.

Embroidery appears damaged.

Inspect the embroidery carefully. If damage is present upon arrival, contact customer support. Minor imperfections are characteristic of handmade items.

  • Accommodates multiple bulb fitting types with the included reducer.
  • Unique, handcrafted embroidery makes each shade a distinctive piece.

Cons

  • Maximum wattage of 11W may result in lower light output.

  • Tassels may require occasional straightening.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Ensure the lamp or pendant fitting is switched off and cool.
  2. If using as a pendant, attach the shade to the existing pendant cord set. If using on a table or floor lamp, place it onto the lamp's socket.
  3. Use the provided shade reducer ring if necessary to ensure a snug fit for your specific bulb holder (B22/BC, E14/SES, or E27/ES).
  4. Screw in a compatible light bulb (maximum 11W).
  5. Turn on the light.

Compatibility:

  • Bulb Fittings: Compatible with B22/BC, E14/SES, and E27/ES fittings thanks to the included shade reducer ring.
  • Bulb Type: Suitable for LED bulbs up to 11W.
  • Usage: Can be used on table lamps, floor lamps, and hanging pendant light fittings.

Care:

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For tougher marks, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry immediately.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Gently straighten tassels if needed.
