FAQs

Is this jacket waterproof?

It is water-repellent, meaning it can handle light rain, but it is not waterproof for heavy or sustained downpours.

Can I wear this under a waterproof raincoat?

Yes, because it is lightweight and low-bulk, it serves as an excellent mid-layer beneath a larger waterproof shell.

Does it have an internal pocket?

No, it features two external lower pockets with secure zip closures.

How do I choose the right size?

The jacket follows standard adult sizing; refer to the manufacturer's size guide for measurements corresponding to your bust and waist.

Is the material machine washable?

Yes, it is machine washable on a gentle cycle, but you should avoid fabric softeners.

Troubleshooting

Water begins soaking into the fabric instead of beading up.

The DWR finish has likely worn off; wash the jacket and apply a fresh water-repellent spray treatment.

Insulation feels flat or loses warmth.

Tumble dry the jacket on low heat with clean tennis balls to fluff up the synthetic down clusters.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High level of mobility due to stretch side panels
  • Lightweight and packable design
  • Secure zipped pockets
  • Effective at trapping body heat
  • DWR finish handles light drizzle well

Cons

  • Not intended for heavy or prolonged rainfall
  • Limited to adult sizing
  • Requires specific care to maintain water repellency

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To keep your Regatta Olina jacket in top condition, follow these care guidelines:

  1. Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can degrade the DWR coating.
  2. Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting to help restore the loft of the synthetic insulation.
  3. Reproofing: If water stops beading on the surface of the jacket over time, apply a spray-on DWR treatment to renew the water-repellent performance.
  4. Storage: Store on a hanger to prevent the insulation from becoming permanently compressed over long periods of non-use.
