The Altura Ridge Tier Waterproof MTB Shorts are engineered for mountain bikers who demand reliable weather protection without sacrificing mobility on technical trails. Featuring a 10k/10k waterproof and breathable rating with fully taped seams, these shorts excel in wet, muddy conditions, though their three-layer construction may feel slightly heavier than lightweight summer-only options.

These shorts are designed for wet and cooler conditions. While they are breathable, the three-layer waterproof construction may be too warm for peak summer temperatures.
Yes, they can be worn without knee pads, but the cut is specifically optimized to accommodate them comfortably.
Use a specialized technical cleaner and avoid fabric softeners, which can strip the waterproof treatment.
The pockets are water-resistant and designed to protect items from trail spray, but they are not intended for full submersion.
They feature a relaxed fit to provide enough room for movement and base layers or knee pads.
The DWR coating may need refreshing. Wash the garment and apply a technical reproofing spray to restore beading properties.
Ensure the waistband is properly adjusted with the SR buckle and verify that the articulation of the knees is aligned with your joints.
To ensure the longevity of the waterproof coating, avoid using standard fabric softeners or harsh detergents. Wash the shorts on a cool cycle and hang dry in a ventilated area. To maintain the 10k waterproof rating, consider using a technical garment wash specifically formulated for DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coatings. For fit, use the SR buckle to cinch the waistband while in your riding position to ensure the shorts stay in place during aggressive descents.
