The Plumbright 22mm Lever Ball Valve is an essential component for plumbers and DIY enthusiasts needing precise, reliable water flow control in domestic and commercial cold water supply systems. Featuring a durable design and WRAS approval, it ensures safety and regulatory compliance; however, users should ensure they have the appropriate compression tools and plumbing paste to achieve a watertight seal during installation.

This specific model is designed for cold water supply as indicated by the blue handle.
Generally, compression fittings do not require PTFE tape as the olive creates the seal. However, some installers use a small amount of jointing compound for peace of mind.
WRAS approval certifies that the valve meets the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and will not contaminate drinking water supplies.
It is designed for standard 22mm copper pipe. If using plastic pipe, you must use a dedicated pipe insert (stiffener) to ensure the compression fitting holds.
When the handle is parallel to the pipe, the valve is open. When it is at a 90-degree angle (perpendicular), the valve is closed.
Tighten the nut slightly more with a wrench. If it continues, disassemble, check if the pipe is damaged, and replace the compression olive.
Gently apply a small amount of silicone-based plumber's lubricant around the valve stem or cycle the handle several times to break up minor lime scale.
To install this 22mm valve, first ensure the water supply is isolated and the pipe is cut square and deburred to prevent damage to the internal olive. Slide the nut and compression olive onto the pipe, insert the pipe into the valve body, and tighten the nut by hand until snug. Use a wrench to tighten the nut an additional half-turn to three-quarters of a turn to compress the olive onto the pipe. Avoid over-tightening, as this can deform the olive and cause leaks. Periodically check the valve for any signs of weeping at the joints and cycle the handle occasionally to prevent mineral deposits from locking the ball mechanism.
