Troubleshooting

Kindling does not light easily

Ensure the kindling has been stored in a dry environment. Check that adequate airflow is provided around the kindling when attempting to light it. Try using more kindling or a more direct flame source.

Excessive smoke during startup

While designed for a clean burn, some initial smoke is normal. Ensure there is sufficient airflow in your appliance. If smoke persists, check that the kindling is not too tightly packed.

Kindling burns out too quickly

This is normal for kindling, as its purpose is to ignite larger fuel. If you require longer-lasting heat from the initial stage, consider using larger pieces of firewood in conjunction with the kindling once flames are established.
