This Scalemaster Magnetic Gold Scale Inhibitor is designed to prevent limescale buildup in water systems, offering protection for single appliances such as boilers or water heaters. It features a 22mm pipe diameter, copper body material, and compression fitting type. The maximum flow rate is 36 litres per minute, and the unit has a length of 165mm and a diameter of 35mm, weighing 0.51kg. It comes with a 3-year guarantee. Key benefits include easy installation with slip couplings, no need for earth bonding, operation without chemicals or power, and no maintenance due to the absence of moving parts. Manufactured in the UK using Scalemaster's patented technology, this WRAS Approved Product contributes to energy cost savings. For installation, place the inhibitor in the cold water supply pipe 1-2 meters before the appliance, ensuring operating temperatures are between 4°C and 40°C and avoiding freezing conditions. The maximum operating pressure is 8 bar. Do not solder the unit during installation; compression fitting torque should be between 45-50 Nm. For optimal performance, it's recommended to pour away any unused hot water from appliances like kettles and refill with cold water to prevent scale particle accumulation. This inhibitor works by causing the formation of needle-like aragonite crystals, which are less likely to stick to heat-exchange surfaces, leading to a cleaner, more efficient system, longer system life, lower fuel bills, and reduced maintenance costs.
