Product Information
Full details
This handmade Blackbird Nester is crafted in the UK from solid, slow-seasoned FSC-certified timber, ensuring durability and longevity without chemical preservatives. Designed as a deep, open ledge with an apex roof, it emulates the preferred nesting spots for blackbirds. For best practice, leave the nest box empty initially to allow blackbirds to add their own materials. Annual cleaning should only be performed after September to ensure the nest is vacated, as blackbirds can have a long breeding season with multiple broods. The robust screwed and jointed construction guarantees a sturdy habitat. The nester should be hung from its brass hook at a height of at least 1.5m, ideally concealed in foliage and sheltered from prevailing winds to protect it from predators. Other species like robins, dunnocks, and wagtails may also utilize this open-fronted design. Dimensions: H:23.0 x W:28.0 x D:23.0 cm. Colour: Brown. Model Number: BLN.
