FAQs

What is the energy efficiency rating of this hob?

This AEG NCH84C23AB hob has an energy efficiency rating of A+.

Can I use any type of pot or pan on this hob?

No, this is an induction hob, so you must use cookware that is specifically compatible with induction hobs. Look for the induction symbol on the base of your cookware.

How often should I clean the filters?

Grease filters should be cleaned regularly, typically after each use or when the saturation indicator lights up. Carbon filters (for recirculation) need to be regenerated or replaced every few months, depending on usage – consult your user manual for specifics.

What is the noise level of the extractor?

The noise level is rated at 69dB(A) on the intensive speed setting.

What does the Bridge Function do?

The Bridge Function allows you to link two adjacent cooking zones together to create one larger cooking area, ideal for oversized pots, griddles, or multiple smaller pans.

Does this hob require external ventilation?

No, this hob offers flexible installation options. It can be set up for recirculation (using carbon filters) or for duct-out ventilation (venting outside).

What is the Breeze Function?

The Breeze Function is a quiet, low-power setting that continues to circulate and purify the air for a period after cooking is finished, helping to maintain a fresh kitchen environment.

Troubleshooting

Hob not turning on

Ensure the main power switch is on and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Check that the hob is properly connected to the power supply.

Cookware not heating

Verify that the cookware is induction-compatible. Ensure the base of the pot or pan is flat and centered on the cooking zone.

Extractor fan not working

Check if the extractor is set to the correct mode (recirculation or duct-out). Ensure filters are clean and correctly fitted. Verify power supply to the extractor.

Error codes displayed on the control panel

Consult the user manual for a list of error codes and their specific meanings and troubleshooting steps.

Reduced extraction power

Clean or replace the grease filters and carbon filters. Ensure there are no blockages in the duct-out vent (if applicable).

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: Installation requires either a recirculation setup (with appropriate carbon filters) or a duct-out system venting outside. Electrical connection should be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure adequate ventilation space around the unit as per the manufacturer's instructions.

Compatibility: This is an induction hob, so all cookware used must be induction-compatible. Check cookware bases for the induction symbol.

Care:

Hob Surface: Clean spills immediately with a damp cloth. Use a ceramic hob cleaner for stubborn marks. Avoid abrasive scourers.
Grease Filters: Remove and clean regularly. Most grease filters are dishwasher-safe.
Carbon Filters: If using recirculation, these need to be replaced or regenerated periodically. Refer to the user manual for regeneration instructions and frequency.
Extractor Unit: Wipe down the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
