Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Select the Correct Reamer: Identify the appropriate reamer size and angle based on the specific vehicle's injector seat dimensions. Consult your vehicle's service manual if unsure.
- Attach Reamer: Securely attach the chosen reamer to the pilot bit (if applicable) or directly to the T-handle.
- Position Tool: Insert the pilot bit or reamer into the injector bore.
- Apply Moderate Pressure: Gently turn the T-handle with moderate, consistent pressure. Do not force the tool.
- Clean and Inspect: Periodically remove the reamer to clear debris and inspect the seat's progress.
Compatibility:
This set is designed for a wide range of diesel vehicles, but specific dimensions can vary. Always verify the required injector seat size against the included reamer dimensions before use. The set includes common sizes like 14mm, 15mm, 15.5mm, 17mm, 17.5mm, and 19mm, in both flat and angled profiles, catering to many European, Asian, and American diesel engines.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, thoroughly clean all components with a degreaser and a brush to remove carbon deposits and metal shavings. Ensure all parts are dry.
- Lubrication: Apply a light coat of oil to the reamers and pilot bits to prevent rust and corrosion, especially during long-term storage.
- Storage: Store all components in their designated slots within the blow-molded case. Ensure the case is closed securely to prevent parts from moving or getting lost.
