Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This is a solid copper cable and requires specific termination techniques. It is recommended to use connectors designed for solid core cables and potentially specialized crimping tools. For faceplate installations, use compatible faceplates designed for solid copper cables (see QS numbers in product information if available). Ensure proper stripping of the outer sheath and inner sheath layers before terminating the individual wires according to the EIA/TIA 568B standard.
Compatibility:
- Standard: CAT6 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)
- Connectors: Compatible with standard RJ45 connectors suitable for solid core copper cables.
- Devices: Works with all standard Ethernet networking equipment, including routers, switches, computers, and IP devices. Fully compatible with PoE (Power over Ethernet) devices.
Care:
- Handling: Avoid excessive bending. The minimum bending radius is greater than 8 times the cable diameter.
- Installation Temperature: Recommended installation temperature range is -15°C to +70°C.
- Cleaning: For external surfaces, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals. The robust outer sheath is designed for minimal maintenance.
- Storage: Store on the reel in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
