Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the engine is cool before starting.
- Remove the old spark plug using a 16mm spanner.
- Verify the Champion CET12P matches the old plug's specifications (thread size, reach, heat range).
- Gently thread the new spark plug into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading.
- Tighten the spark plug to the manufacturer's recommended torque, typically between 25-30 Nm. Do not overtighten.
- Reconnect the spark plug wire or coil pack.
Compatibility:
This spark plug is designed for a wide range of vehicles, including models from VW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, BMW, Ford, Renault, Skoda, Seat, and Hyundai. Crucially, always refer to your vehicle's technical information and specific engine codes to confirm exact compatibility before purchasing. Cross-reference part numbers if possible.
Care:
Spark plugs are generally maintenance-free and designed for replacement rather than servicing. If removed for inspection, handle the electrodes gently. Avoid cleaning with abrasive materials that could damage the platinum tip. Ensure the connection is clean and dry before reinstallation.
