Full details
The Bala The Play Mat is designed for active individuals who need a versatile, durable, and stylish mat for yoga, pilates, and home workouts. Its key benefit is its non-slip, antimicrobial surface combined with a unique portal shape for easy portability and aesthetic appeal. A potential caveat is its 5mm thickness, which may be less cushioning for some users compared to thicker mats. This mat features a waterproof, moisture-wicking top layer made from high-grade polyurethane and a natural rubber base.

FAQs
What are the dimensions of The Play Mat?
The product dimensions are 71 ⅜ inches in length and 26 ½ inches in width.
Is the mat suitable for hot yoga?
The nonslip and waterproof surface is beneficial for sweaty practices, but prolonged high heat from the environment could affect the mat's materials over time. It's best to ensure it's not left in direct, intense sun.
Can I use cleaning sprays directly on the mat?
No, never spray cleaning solutions directly onto the mat. Always apply the solution to your microfiber cloth first, then wipe the mat.
What makes the rubber base FSC™-certified?
FSC™ certification ensures that the natural rubber used is sourced from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.
How do I best store The Play Mat?
Roll the mat with the top side facing outwards. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The portal shape aids in compact storage.
Is the mat heavy?
While specific weight is not provided, its 5mm thickness and natural rubber base suggest a moderate weight, suitable for portability with the portal design.
What is the primary advantage of the portal shape?
The portal shape is a design innovation that allows for quick and easy rolling, making the mat highly portable, and it also serves as a unique visual element.
Troubleshooting
Mat has a strong odor upon arrival.
This is normal for natural rubber. Allow the mat to air out in a well-ventilated area for a few days before use. Wiping with a diluted vinegar solution can also help dissipate the smell.
Mat is slippery during workouts.
Ensure the mat is clean and free from oils or lotions. For initial use, some users find a light wipe-down with a damp cloth helps 'break in' the surface. Make sure the floor beneath the mat is also dry.
Mat is difficult to roll or keep flat.
Ensure the mat is completely dry before rolling. For initial use, place heavy objects on the edges or center of the mat for a few hours to help it lay flat. Consistent use will also help it flatten naturally.
Discoloration or damage to the top layer.
Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive amounts of oil-based soaps. Do not expose the mat to prolonged direct sunlight or high heat, as this can degrade the polyurethane coating.
