The Faithfull Carpenter's Try Square (150mm) is a precision tool designed for woodworkers and DIY enthusiasts who require reliable square measurements during joinery and assembly. Its primary strength lies in its blend of traditional craftsmanship and rugged materials, offering a high-degree of accuracy for marking out. However, users should note that as a classic fixed square, it does not offer the adjustability of sliding T-bevels or combination squares, making it a purpose-built tool rather than a multi-functional one.

While the blade is hardened steel, the wooden stock is intended for woodworking. It is recommended to use metal-bodied squares for heavy metal fabrication.
Yes, the tool is made with FSC 100% Certified wood sourced from well-managed forests.
The blade length is 150mm, which is the standard size for most small to medium woodworking tasks.
The brass facings are fitted during manufacturing and are not intended to be user-replaceable.
Mark a line on a piece of wood with a straight edge, flip the square over, and align it with the same line. If the lines do not match perfectly, the square is out of tolerance.
Check if the brass rivets have been impacted; if they are intact, the tool may have suffered structural damage and should be replaced for accuracy.
Wipe the blade with a fine-grade scouring pad and apply a light coat of tool oil to restore the blued finish.
This tool arrives pre-calibrated and ready for immediate use. Because it is a fixed tool, there are no internal settings to adjust. To maintain the accuracy of the square, avoid dropping the tool on concrete or hard surfaces, as impact can displace the rivet alignment. To care for the wood, occasionally apply a light coat of paste wax or boiled linseed oil to the stock to prevent drying. If you notice rust spots on the blade, clean them gently with a non-abrasive pad and a light machine oil to maintain the finish.
