Product Information
Full details
This VidaXL Garden Wall Decoration is designed for homeowners looking to enhance their outdoor spaces with a durable and visually striking piece. Its key benefit is the use of Corten steel, which develops a protective, rust-like patina over time, offering a unique aesthetic without maintenance. A caveat is that the product arrives in its natural metal color and requires time to develop its signature rusted look, or can be treated to accelerate the process.

FAQs
Will the rust damage the steel permanently?
No, the rust that forms on Corten steel is a stable, protective layer that prevents deeper corrosion. This is known as weathering steel.
How long does it take for the Corten steel to develop a full rust patina?
The time frame can vary depending on environmental conditions, but it typically takes several months to a couple of years for a complete, stable patina to form naturally. You can accelerate this process.
Can I paint the wall decoration?
While Corten steel is designed to develop its own natural patina, it can be painted. However, painting may interfere with the natural weathering process and will require proper surface preparation.
What are the dimensions of the decoration?
The dimensions are Height: 0.7 cm, Width: 105.0 cm, and Depth: 55.0 cm.
Is the rust finish safe for gardens with plants?
Yes, the stable rust layer is generally safe. However, be mindful of initial rust run-off, which could potentially stain sensitive plants or soil. Direct contact with developing rust should be avoided until stabilized.
What is the warranty period for this product?
The VidaXL Garden Wall Decoration comes with a 1-year guarantee.
How heavy is the wall decoration?
The decoration weighs 27.5 kg.
Troubleshooting
Decoration is not rusting or rust is uneven.
Ensure the product is exposed to consistent atmospheric conditions (moisture and air). You can manually accelerate rusting by spraying with a salt-water solution or a commercial rust accelerator. Avoid sealing the surface until the desired patina is achieved.
Rust stains appearing on adjacent surfaces or clothing.
This is common during the initial rusting phase. Ensure adequate drainage away from sensitive areas. Temporarily shield surfaces below the decoration or avoid contact with the item until the rust layer stabilizes. For clothing, wash immediately.
Difficulty mounting the decoration.
Ensure you are using the correct type and size of screws and wall anchors suitable for your wall material and the weight of the decoration (27.5 kg). Consider using a drill to create pilot holes and, if mounting on a weak surface, use robust anchors or seek professional help.
Product arrives damaged or with imperfections.
Contact customer support with photographic evidence of the damage. The product is covered by a 1-year guarantee for manufacturing defects.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Identify the desired location on your wall or fence.
- Use the pre-drilled mounting holes on the back of the decoration.
- Securely attach the decoration using appropriate screws and wall anchors for your surface type (not included).
Compatibility:
This wall decoration is designed for outdoor use and can be mounted on most solid wall and fence surfaces, including brick, concrete, wood, and metal. Ensure the mounting surface can support the product's weight.
Care:
- To speed up the rusting process, you can spray the decoration with a mixture of water and salt. Some users also suggest a mix of water and white vinegar or a specialized rust accelerator spray. Ensure good ventilation during this process.
- Keep clothing and surrounding surfaces away from the decoration during the initial rusting phase to prevent stains.
- Once the desired patina has developed, minimal care is required. Clean with a damp cloth if dust accumulates, avoiding abrasive cleaners.
- The product is designed to rust and change appearance over time; this is an intended feature, not a defect.
