Yes, they provide good protection against heat from standard dinner plates and mugs, though they are not intended for use with extremely hot cookware fresh from the oven.
No. Immersing these placemats in water or placing them in a dishwasher will cause the MDF core to absorb water and warp.
Each purchase includes a set of four placemats.
The placemats are made from high-quality medium-density fiberboard (MDF) with a printed matte lacquer finish.
These are designed for indoor use. Exposure to outdoor elements, such as humidity or direct rain, will damage the material.
Wipe the surface with a slightly damp microfiber cloth and immediately follow with a dry, lint-free towel.
Gently dab the area with an absorbent paper towel and allow the mat to air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources.
Setting up your Cool Cats placemats is straightforward: simply place them on your dining table, ensuring they are flat to prevent uneven weight distribution. These mats are compatible with most standard dining table materials, including wood, glass, and metal. To maintain their appearance and lifespan: use only a soft, damp cloth for cleaning; avoid immersing them in water, as moisture can cause the MDF core to swell. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scouring pads, as these will damage the matte finish. Store them flat in a cool, dry area when not in use.
