TX10 is a high-performance paint and varnish stripper specially formulated to penetrate and strip ...TX10 is a high-performance paint and varnish stripper specially formulated to penetrate and strip multiple paint layers. Its methylene-chloride free, non-flammable formulation has minimal evaporation that continues to work and does not 'flash off'. Non-caustic, and non-drip it is ideal for vertical surfaces and less accessible areas and is suitable for indoor and outdoor application. Preparation: Read label fully before use. Wear protective gloves. Protect floor coverings, textiles, and surfaces you do not want to come into contact with the stripper. Suitable for use on wood and masonry, and most metal substrates. Test a small, inconspicuous area of metals, plastics and other substrates to determine compatibility. Ensure surfaces to be stripped are dry. ENSURE THE CONTAINER IS SECURELY CLOSED AND SHAKE CONTAINER WELL BEFORE USE. Application: Pour a quantity of TX10 into a suitable container. Apply a generous, thick even coat by brush onto the surface to be stripped at a rate of 1 litre per square metre. Do not brush out. Leave for approximately 1 hour until the product reacts with the paint or varnish and apply a second coat of stripper using a dabbing motion. For areas where there are fewer than 5 layers of paint or varnish, a second coat may not be necessary. Leave until the stripper has softened the coating and scrape-off using a shave hook. Repeat the process if necessary*. Rub down the stripped area with a scrubbing brush. DO NOT USE WIRE WOOL. Wash down the stripped area with detergent and water. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry. Technical: *For maximum effect, where there is a significant number of paint-layers to be removed, cover the applied TX10 with plastic sheeting and leave for 6-8 hours prior to scraping. Bartoline TX10 strips most solvent and water borne paint and varnishes including polyurethane varnishes. STORE IN A COOL, DRY PLACE. PROTECT FROM FROST.
The Bartoline TX10 Paint Varnish Stripper is designed for DIY enthusiasts and professionals tackling tough stripping jobs, offering a powerful, non-flammable, and non-caustic solution for removing multiple layers of paint and varnish. Its key benefit is its slow evaporation rate, which allows it to work effectively on vertical surfaces and in hard-to-reach areas without drying out too quickly. However, it requires a significant dwell time, especially for multiple layers, and careful preparation is essential to avoid damaging surrounding materials.

FAQs
Is Bartoline TX10 safe to use indoors?
Yes, Bartoline TX10 is suitable for indoor application. However, ensure adequate ventilation as with any chemical product.
How long should I leave the stripper on the surface?
Leave for approximately 1 hour. For surfaces with fewer than 5 layers, a second coat may not be necessary. For maximum effect with significant paint layers, cover with plastic sheeting and leave for 6-8 hours.
What types of paint and varnish can TX10 remove?
Bartoline TX10 strips most solvent and water-borne paints and varnishes, including polyurethane varnishes.
Can I use wire wool to clean the stripped surface?
No, do not use wire wool. Rub down the stripped area with a scrubbing brush.
What surfaces is TX10 suitable for?
It is suitable for wood, masonry, and most metal substrates. Always test compatibility on a small, inconspicuous area first for metals, plastics, and other substrates.
What should I do if the paint is not softening?
Ensure you applied a thick, even coat and allowed sufficient dwell time. For stubborn layers, a second application or covering with plastic sheeting for an extended period (6-8 hours) may be required.
How should I store the product?
Store Bartoline TX10 in a cool, dry place and protect it from frost.
Troubleshooting
Stripper not softening paint effectively
Ensure a thick, generous coat was applied and not brushed out. For multiple layers, a second application or covering with plastic sheeting for 6-8 hours may be necessary. The surface may not be completely dry before application.
Stripper dripping excessively on vertical surfaces
While the formula is non-drip, very thick or numerous applications might still show some minor run-off. Ensure only a thick, even coat is applied. A second dabbing coat is usually sufficient.
Residue left after scraping
Ensure the stripped area is thoroughly washed down with detergent and water, followed by a clean water rinse. Stubborn residue might require a second application of the stripper.
Damage to surrounding materials
Ensure adequate protection (drop cloths, masking tape) was used before application. Always test compatibility on a small, inconspicuous area first, especially on plastics or sensitive finishes.
