FAQs

Does the Tempur Pro Plus SmartCool Soft need to be flipped?

No, this mattress is designed as a single-sided unit and does not require flipping, though occasional rotation is recommended.

Can I use an electric blanket with this mattress?

It is generally not recommended to use electric blankets as they can interfere with the temperature-sensitive properties of the TEMPUR material.

How often should I wash the cover?

You can wash the cover as needed, though typically every 3-6 months is sufficient to maintain freshness.

Is this mattress suitable for people with asthma?

Yes, because the mattress is sterilized and dust-free, it is an excellent choice for individuals with asthma or dust-mite allergies.

What kind of base should I use?

A solid, slatted, or adjustable bed base that provides even support is ideal for this mattress.

Troubleshooting

The mattress feels firmer than expected initially

Tempur material is temperature-sensitive and will soften as it adapts to your body heat over the first few nights of use.

The cooling cover feels less cool over time

Ensure the cover is free from dust or debris by washing it at 40C; accumulated particles can interfere with the fabric's cooling efficiency.

Sheets do not fit correctly

Verify that you are using deep-pocket fitted sheets, as the 25cm profile requires extra fabric depth to secure properly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Superior pressure relief for joints and muscles
Excellent motion isolation for undisturbed sleep
Effective cooling technology for temperature regulation
Hypo-allergenic material is ideal for allergy sufferers
Cover is removable and machine washable

Cons

Requires deeper fitted sheets due to 25cm depth
Plush 'soft' feel may not suit those needing firm orthopedic support
Premium product requires higher initial investment

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Tempur Pro Plus SmartCool Soft, place it on a clean, flat, and supportive base, such as a slatted bed frame or a platform base. Avoid placing the mattress on surfaces that prevent air circulation, as this can trap moisture. Care for the mattress is straightforward: the cover should be removed by unzipping it from the mattress and can be machine washed at 40C. It is important to ensure the cover is completely dry before reattaching it. Because this is a high-density material, you do not need to flip the mattress, though rotating it 180 degrees every few months can promote even wear.
