FAQs

Is the Dunlop D402 a tubeless tire?

Some variants are Tubeless (TL) while others are designed for Tubed (TT) applications. Please check your specific MPN and documentation.

How often should I check my tire pressure?

It is recommended to check tire pressure every two weeks or before every long ride when the tires are cold.

Will this tire fit my motorcycle?

You must match the tire size, load rating, and speed rating with your motorcycle's OEM specifications listed in your owner's manual.

How do I keep the whitewall looking clean?

Use a soft brush and a dedicated whitewall cleaner to remove road grime. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that might dry out the rubber.

Can I use this tire for daily commuting?

Yes, the D402 is designed for both heavy-duty touring and daily riding, offering durability for high-mileage users.

Troubleshooting

Visible uneven wear or cupping

Check your motorcycle's suspension settings and verify the tire pressure is set to the manufacturer's recommended PSI.

Tire loses air pressure slowly

Inspect the sidewalls and tread for punctures and ensure the valve stem core is properly tightened.

Excessive vibration at high speed

The tire may require re-balancing; consult a professional to ensure the weights are correctly placed on the rim.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Stable handling under heavy loads
Reliable performance on wet road surfaces
Reduced risk of premature tread cupping
Classic aesthetic design

Cons

Heavy construction may impact light-duty bike agility
Whitewall requires regular cleaning to maintain appearance

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before installation, ensure you are referencing your motorcycle owner's manual to confirm the correct size and load index. The D402 is available in specific variants that are either Tubeless (TL) or Tubed (TT); using the wrong type for your rim can lead to tire failure. Installation should be performed by a professional technician to ensure proper bead seating and balance. To care for your whitewalls, use a dedicated, non-abrasive rubber cleaner to prevent discoloration and cracking of the sidewall. Always check your tire pressure every few weeks, as under-inflation is the leading cause of premature wear and heat buildup.
