Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sewing Recommendations:
- Needle: Use a new, heavy universal needle (e.g., size 90/14 or 100/16) for best results to penetrate the multiple layers.
- Thread: A strong polyester or cotton-wrapped polyester thread is recommended.
- Pressing: Press on a medium-low heat setting, ensuring the iron does not linger too long to avoid melting the polyester wadding. Always test on a scrap piece first.
Compatibility:
This fabric is compatible with most standard sewing machines, but a machine with a strong motor is beneficial for handling the thickness.
Care Instructions:
- Washing: Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle at a low temperature (e.g., 30°C / 86°F).
- Drying: Air dry flat or tumble dry on a low heat setting. Avoid high heat to prevent damage to the wadding.
- Ironing: Iron on the reverse side at a medium-low temperature.
- Dry Cleaning: Dry cleaning is generally not recommended due to the polyester wadding.
