Is the MIK rack removable?

The rack is designed as part of the bike's equipped utility package, but it can be removed by a professional if not required.

How do I turn the lights on?

The lights are integrated into the electrical system and can typically be toggled via the main controller interface on the handlebars.

Is the battery removable for charging?

The battery is integrated into the frame; please check the manual or consult a Trek dealer regarding specific charging procedures for your model.

What is the maximum tire size I can use?

The frame is optimized for 40c tyres; consult with your local bike shop before attempting to install wider aftermarket tires.

Troubleshooting

Motor power is not engaging while pedaling

Ensure the battery is securely seated and charged, then check that the display unit is powered on and not in a lockout mode.

Brakes feel spongy or unresponsive

This indicates air in the hydraulic lines or worn pads; consult a professional bike technician for a brake bleed and pad inspection.

Shifting is noisy or skipping gears

Check the derailleur hanger alignment or perform a minor cable tension adjustment via the barrel adjuster on the rear derailleur.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lightweight design makes it easy to maneuver and store
Midstep frame geometry enhances accessibility for various riders
Includes essential commuting accessories like mudguards and a rack
Hydraulic disc brakes offer superior confidence in city traffic

Cons

Battery capacity is optimized for shorter city trips rather than long-range travel
Fixed battery setup may be challenging for those without access to an outlet near bike storage

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure peak performance, keep the 700c tyres inflated to the recommended pressure indicated on the sidewalls. The battery should be charged using the provided charger; avoid letting it drain completely to zero percent for long periods to maintain cell health. The Shimano 8-speed drivetrain should be kept clean and lubricated to ensure smooth shifts. Because this bike features an MIK-compatible rear rack, it is compatible with a wide array of MIK-certified bags and baskets. Regularly check the hydraulic brake fluid levels and ensure the integrated lights are clean and functioning before night rides.
