FAQs

How long does the lamp last?

The lamp should be replaced every 6-12 months to maintain optimal UV-B output.

Can I use this lamp for any reptile?

This lamp is best suited for small or hatchling species. Consider higher output lamps for larger species and enclosures.

How far should the lamp be from my animal?

The distance depends on the species. Monitor your animal's behavior and adjust the distance to maintain the correct basking temperature and UV-B exposure.

What kind of lamp holder should I use?

Use a high-quality E26 or E27 lamp holder rated for the wattage of the Arcadia D3+ lamp.

How do I clean the lamp?

Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the lamp. Always unplug the lamp before cleaning.

What is UV-B, and why is it important?

UV-B is essential for vitamin D3 synthesis in reptiles, which aids in calcium absorption and bone health.

Troubleshooting

Lamp doesn't turn on.

Check the power connection and ensure the lamp is properly screwed into the lamp holder. Try a different lamp holder to rule out a faulty connection.

Poor UV-B output.

Ensure the lamp is within its effective lifespan. Make sure the lamp is positioned correctly with the glass facing the animal and consider adding a reflector.

Animal is not basking.

Adjust the lamp's distance to ensure the basking spot reaches the appropriate temperature. Check for other potential stressors in the enclosure.
