Setup, Compatibility & Care
Understanding how to properly prepare your skin, who can use the product, and how to care for it ensures the best experience and longevity.
Initial Setup & Skin Preparation
- Patch Test: Before full application, apply a small amount of lotion to a discreet area of skin (e.g., inner arm) 24 hours prior to check for any skin irritation or allergic reaction.
- Exfoliation is Key: For the most even color development, thoroughly exfoliate your entire body before the *first* use. Pay special attention to dry areas like knees, elbows, and ankles.
- Shaving/Hair Removal: If you shave or remove hair, do so at least 24 hours *before* applying the gradual tanner. Freshly shaven skin can be more sensitive and absorb too much product, leading to darker spots.
Compatibility
- Skin Types: This moisturizing formula is generally suitable for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin, thanks to its Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E content.
- Face vs. Body: While primarily a body lotion, some users may choose to apply a very thin layer to their face, blending carefully into the hairline and avoiding the eye area. For facial use, consider diluting with your regular face moisturizer to control intensity.
- Other Products: Allow the gradual tanning lotion to fully absorb before applying any other products like perfumes or additional moisturizers.
Product Care & Storage
- Storage: Store the lotion in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to maintain its efficacy.
- Lid Security: Ensure the cap is tightly closed after each use to prevent the product from drying out and to maintain its freshness.
- Shelf Life: Refer to the PAO (Period After Opening) symbol on the packaging, typically indicated by an open jar icon with a number (e.g., `12M` for 12 months), to know how long the product is good for after opening.
- Sun Protection: Remember, this product does not provide sun protection. Always apply a separate SPF product when exposed to the sun.
