FAQs

How often should I sterilize the MAM Original Soother?

You should sterilize the soother before its first use and regularly thereafter. For very young infants, daily sterilization is recommended to maintain hygiene. Boiling for five minutes or using a sterilizer are common methods.

What materials are used in the MAM Original Soother?

The MAM Original Soother is made from high-quality, baby-safe materials. The teat features MAM's unique 'Silk Teat' silicone, known for its soft, skin-like texture. All components are free from BPA and BPS.

How long can I use one MAM soother before replacing it?

For hygiene reasons and safety, it's recommended to replace soothers every 1-2 months. You should also replace it immediately if there are any signs of damage, wear, or stickiness to the teat or shield.

Can I attach a soother clip to the MAM Original Soother?

Yes, you can use a baby-safe soother clip designed for pacifiers. Always ensure the clip is securely attached and used under adult supervision to prevent any potential safety hazards.

Is this soother suitable for newborns?

Info needed: The specific age range for this particular 'MAM Original Soother - 2 Pack - Plain Blue' is not detailed. MAM offers various soother sizes tailored for different age groups (e.g., 0+ months, 0-6 months, 6+ months). Always check the product packaging for the specific age recommendation to ensure it's suitable for your newborn.

How do I clean the soother if it gets dirty?

Wash the soother with warm water and a mild dish soap. Rinse it thoroughly under running water to remove all soap residue. You can then sterilize it according to your preferred method (boiling, sterilizer, etc.). Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.

Troubleshooting

Baby rejects the soother.

Ensure the soother is clean and offered during a calm moment. Check if the size is appropriate for your baby's age (Info needed: specific age range). Sometimes, trying at different times or positions can help. The 'Silk Teat' is generally well-accepted, but some babies have strong preferences.

Soother shows signs of wear or damage.

Immediately discontinue use and discard the soother. Inspect the teat regularly for discoloration, stickiness, swelling, or any tears. Replace soothers every 1-2 months, or sooner if damage is observed, for safety and hygiene.

Soother gets lost easily.

Consider using a baby-safe soother clip to attach it to your baby's clothing, ensuring it is used under supervision and doesn't pose a strangulation risk. This can help keep the soother accessible and prevent it from falling on the floor.
