Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Dig post holes to the appropriate depth, typically about 2 feet for a 6ft fence panel.
- Place the fence post in the hole, ensuring it is plumb (vertically straight) using a spirit level.
- Backfill the hole with soil, gravel, or post-mix concrete, tamping down firmly to secure the post.
- Attach fence panels to the posts using appropriate brackets or screws.
Compatibility:
These posts are designed to be compatible with most standard pressure-treated fence panels. The 10x10cm profile is common for many fencing systems. Ensure your chosen fence panel fixings are suitable for timber posts of this dimension.
Care:
While these posts are pressure-treated for longevity, minimal care is recommended.
- Avoid constant saturation by ensuring good drainage around the base.
- The timber can be treated with a wood stain or preservative annually for added protection and to maintain its appearance, though this is not strictly necessary due to the deep treatment.
- Keep the base of the posts clear of debris that could retain moisture.
