Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup and care will ensure your dining chairs remain a beautiful and functional part of your home for years to come.
Setup Instructions
- Unpack Carefully: Gently remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any transit damage before proceeding. It's recommended to assemble on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratching the chairs or your floor.
- Attach Legs: Each chair typically requires the legs to be bolted to the seat frame. Align the pre-drilled holes in the legs with the mounting points on the underside of the chair.
- Secure Fasteners: Use the provided bolts and washers (if included) to firmly attach the legs. Do not overtighten initially; hand-tighten all bolts first, then gradually tighten them evenly with the provided tool (if applicable) until secure.
- Ensure Stability: Once all legs are attached, gently place the chair upright. Press down on the seat and gently rock the chair to ensure it is stable and all legs are touching the floor evenly. If there's a slight wobble, loosen the bolts slightly, adjust the chair, then retighten.
Compatibility
- Dining Tables: These chairs are ideally suited for standard height dining tables. Their neutral grey color and classic design allow them to complement a wide range of table styles, from modern to traditional.
- Interior Decor: The timeless design and grey velvet make them highly compatible with various interior design themes, including contemporary, transitional, art deco, or classic aesthetics.
Care & Maintenance
- Velvet Upholstery Care:
- Regular Vacuuming: Gently vacuum the velvet upholstery regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and prevent dirt build-up.
- Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry, white cloth. Avoid rubbing, which can push the stain deeper and damage the pile. For tougher spots, use a small amount of mild, pH-neutral soap diluted in water on a clean cloth, dabbing gently. Test on an inconspicuous area first. Avoid saturating the fabric.
- Pile Restoration: If the velvet pile appears crushed or matted, gently brush it with a soft fabric brush or even a soft-bristled toothbrush in the direction of the pile.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use strong chemical cleaners, abrasive detergents, or steam cleaners directly on velvet, as this can damage the fabric.
- Wooden Legs Care:
- Wipe Clean: Dust the piano black wooden legs regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For smudges, a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry cloth can be used.
- Prevent Scratches: Use felt pads on the bottom of the legs if you plan to move the chairs frequently, especially on hard flooring, to prevent scratches.
- Touch-ups: For minor scratches, a furniture marker or polish designed for black wood can be used for touch-ups. Info needed: [Specific product recommendations for leg touch-ups].
- General Protection:
- Sunlight Exposure: Position chairs away from direct and prolonged sunlight to prevent fading and material degradation.
- Avoid Sharp Objects: Be mindful of sharp objects that could snag or tear the velvet fabric.
