FAQs

Does the bivvy come with a bag?

Yes, it includes a heavy-duty storage bag specifically designed to accommodate the bivvy and accessories.

Can I use the bivvy without the groundsheet?

Yes, the groundsheet is fully removable, allowing you to use the bivvy on varied terrain.

What is the purpose of the included Skull Cap?

The Skull Cap provides an extra layer of 10,000mm waterproof protection, reduces condensation, and adds a small porch area to the front.

How do I maintain the camouflage material?

Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed; avoid using harsh chemicals or pressure washers.

Is the bivvy suitable for two people?

While spacious, it is primarily designed as a large, comfortable shelter for one angler and their gear.

Troubleshooting

Bivvy seems unstable in high wind

Ensure all heavy-duty pegs are fully driven into the ground and the tension straps are adjusted to pull the frame taut.

Condensation forming inside the shell

Verify that the internal vapour shield is properly attached and ensure the PermaVent rear vents are open to promote air circulation.

Difficult to zip in the groundsheet

Ensure the bivvy frame is correctly tensioned and that no debris is caught in the zipper teeth before attempting to zip.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely fast and simple pitch time thanks to the TRS system
Spacious interior layout with high headroom
Excellent ventilation even during wet weather conditions
Comprehensive package including a 10,000mm HH Skull Cap
High-quality, durable camouflage material

Cons

Larger footprint may not fit in very tight swims
Heavier pack weight due to premium materials and hardware
More complex to dry out fully if packed away wet

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup is straightforward: extend the pole sections until the TRS block locks into place, then secure the tension. Ensure the zip-in groundsheet is aligned with the internal anchor points before tightening the frame to ensure a taut fit. For long-term care, always allow the material to dry completely before storing it in the heavy-duty bag to prevent mildew. If you fish on rocky terrain, ensure the pegs are driven in vertically for maximum stability. The bivvy is compatible with most standard-sized carp bedchairs and provides ample room for two-rod setups if necessary.
