FAQs

Are these pans dishwasher safe?

While some components might withstand the dishwasher, hand washing is strongly recommended to preserve the performance of the Thermolon non-stick coating.

Can I use metal utensils with this set?

No, you should avoid metal utensils as they can scratch and damage the ceramic non-stick coating. Opt for silicone or wooden tools instead.

Do I need to use oil or butter?

While the ceramic coating is naturally non-stick, a small amount of oil or butter is recommended to improve heat distribution and browning.

Is the set safe for induction cooktops?

Yes, the GreenPan Essence set features a specialized induction-compatible base that works on all stovetops.

Are the handles oven safe?

The handles are designed primarily for stovetop use and storage convenience. Check the specific markings on your set, but generally, avoid placing them in high-heat ovens unless specified.

Troubleshooting

Food is starting to stick to the pan

This is often caused by oil residue buildup or overheating. Try cleaning the surface thoroughly with a soft cloth and a gentle detergent, and ensure you use only low-to-medium heat settings.

Handles feel loose

Check the mounting point on the pan. Since the handles are designed to be removable, ensure they are clicked into place securely before heating the pan.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your GreenPan Essence set, follow these guidelines:

  1. Pre-use: Wash the pans in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge before the first use.
  2. Cooking Heat: Always use low-to-medium heat. High heat can damage the ceramic coating over time and cause food to stick.
  3. Utensils: Use silicone, wood, or plastic tools. Avoid metal forks or spatulas that may scratch the non-stick surface.
  4. Compatibility: These pans work on induction, gas, electric, and ceramic glass cooktops.
  5. Cleaning: Hand wash only. Avoid harsh abrasive pads or steel wool. Ensure the pan has cooled down completely before placing it in water to avoid thermal shock.
