Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility:
Ensure the Continental CrossContact H/T tires are selected in the correct size and load/speed rating for your specific vehicle. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual or the placard on the driver's side doorjamb for the recommended tire specifications. The CrossContact H/T is designed to fit a wide range of SUVs and light trucks.
Setup:
Installation should be performed by a qualified tire professional. This includes proper mounting onto the wheel rim, inflation to the manufacturer's recommended pressure, and wheel balancing to ensure optimal performance and tire life. Regular rotation of tires is recommended to promote even wear.
Care:
To maximize the lifespan and performance of your CrossContact H/T tires, follow these care guidelines:
- Maintain Proper Inflation: Check tire pressure regularly (at least once a month and before long trips) when tires are cold. Use the pressure recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.
- Regular Inspection: Visually inspect tires for any signs of damage, such as cuts, bulges, or embedded objects. Check tread depth to ensure it meets legal and safety requirements.
- Wheel Alignment and Balancing: Have your wheel alignment and balance checked periodically, especially if you notice uneven tire wear or the vehicle pulling to one side.
- Cleaning: Clean tires with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or petroleum-based products that can damage the rubber.
