Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before your first use, ensure you thoroughly wash the glass jars in warm, soapy water. If you intend to use them for canning, you must sterilize the jars in boiling water or a low-heat oven according to standard home-canning guidelines. When filling, leave a small amount of 'headspace' at the top to allow for natural expansion. When sealing, ensure the rim of the jar is perfectly clean and free of sticky residue to ensure the lid threads correctly and maintains an airtight bond. For care, hand-washing the red lids is strongly recommended to preserve the integrity of the seal coating and prevent corrosion over time. The glass base is dishwasher safe, but always remove the lid before placing the jar in a wash cycle.
