The Little Friends Apex Hutch with Play Pen is designed for rabbit and guinea pig owners who require a secure, all-in-one outdoor living environment. This product offers the key benefit of combining a sheltered sleeping compartment with an integrated exercise run, ensuring pets remain active and protected from the elements. A primary caveat to consider is that while the hutch is weather-resistant, owners should provide additional insulation or bring the unit indoors during extreme winter temperatures to ensure the long-term health and comfort of their pets.

The hutch is crafted for outdoor use, but we recommend applying a pet-safe wood preservative annually to maximize lifespan.
Yes, the unit features secure locking latches and sturdy construction designed to deter predators, though constant vigilance is always recommended.
While intended for outdoors, it can be used indoors if you provide a waterproof tray liner to protect your floors.
This unit is ideally sized for one to two guinea pigs, depending on their size and activity level.
The hutch is designed for straightforward assembly; most users can complete the setup in under 45 minutes with a standard screwdriver.
Check for wood swelling due to moisture and sand down the contact area, then apply a non-toxic lubricant to the metal mechanism.
Apply a small bead of exterior-grade, pet-safe silicone sealant along the interior of the ridge joint.
Setup: The hutch arrives ready for assembly. Ensure you have a level surface, such as a patio or firm lawn, to maintain the structural integrity of the frame. Use a screwdriver to securely fasten all components to avoid loose gaps.
Compatibility: This model is ideally sized for guinea pigs and smaller rabbit breeds. It is not recommended for multiple large rabbits due to the 53 cm width.
Care: To extend the life of the product, apply a pet-safe wood preservative or waterproof sealant once every season. Regularly check the locking latches for stiffness and oil them if necessary to ensure smooth operation. Clear away debris from the roof periodically to maintain drainage efficiency.
