FAQs

Does the steriliser use chemicals?

No, it uses professional-grade ultraviolet light to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria.

How long do the bottles stay sterile?

If the door is left closed, items remain sterile for up to 24 hours.

Can I use any water in the Perfect Prep machine?

You must use fresh cold tap water, which is then passed through the dedicated antibacterial filter.

Is the machine loud during operation?

The Perfect Prep machine is designed to be quiet, making it suitable for night-time use in or near the bedroom.

How often do I replace the filter?

Filter life depends on usage, but the machine will alert you when it needs to be swapped.

Can the steriliser hold other items besides bottles?

Yes, it can be used to sterilise pacifiers, breast pump parts, and other small baby accessories that fit within the rack.

Troubleshooting

Perfect Prep machine light flashing red

This typically indicates that the filter is nearing the end of its life or the water tank is empty.

Steriliser not starting the cycle

Ensure the door is fully closed and the latch is engaged, as the unit features a safety sensor to prevent UV light leakage.

Bottle contents are not reaching target temperature

Check that the water tank has been filled with cold water and the machine is placed on a flat, level surface away from direct heat sources.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before first use, run the initial cleaning cycle on both machines as detailed in the user manual to ensure the water and internal sensors are calibrated. For the Perfect Prep, ensure you are using genuine Tommee Tippee replacement filters to maintain the antibacterial performance. The Ultra UV unit requires a clean, dry cloth for occasional interior wiping; do not submerge any part of the units in water. Always verify that your bottle sizes and types are compatible with the specific internal racks provided in the steriliser to ensure full exposure to the UV light.
