FAQs

Can I use this with other brands of 2-stroke equipment?

Yes, it is suitable for any 2-stroke engine that specifies a 1:50 fuel-to-oil mix ratio.

Is this a synthetic oil?

No, Stihl HP 2-Stroke Engine Oil is a high-grade mineral-based lubricant.

How much fuel do I need for the whole bottle?

The 100ml bottle is designed to be mixed with exactly 5 liters of gasoline.

What happens if I mix it with more than 5 liters of fuel?

Mixing with more fuel will lean out the oil ratio, providing insufficient lubrication and potentially damaging your engine.

What do the JASO and ISO standards mean?

These are international quality standards that confirm the oil provides the necessary lubrication and combustion protection for your engine.

Can I keep the mixed fuel for a long time?

It is recommended to use mixed fuel within 30 days to ensure peak engine performance.

Troubleshooting

Engine runs rough after adding fuel mix

Check that the fuel mixture is fresh. Gasoline degrades over time, which can cause poor combustion.

Excessive smoke from the exhaust

Ensure the oil-to-fuel ratio was not exceeded. Verify you mixed 100ml of oil with 5 liters of fuel.

Difficulty starting tool

Inspect the spark plug for carbon buildup and ensure the fuel mixture is clean and recently prepared.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Eliminates complex fuel-to-oil ratio calculations
Excellent lubrication for extended engine lifespan
Compact bottle design is ideal for storage and portability
Ensures consistent performance across Stihl equipment

Cons

Not a synthetic-based oil
Requires specific 5-liter fuel batches for single-bottle use
Limited to 2-stroke engines only

Setup, Compatibility & Care

For optimal results, ensure the gasoline used is fresh and free of impurities. This oil is fully compatible with any equipment requiring a 1:50 mixture, regardless of the brand, though it is specifically tested for Stihl engines. Always store the oil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once mixed with fuel, use the blend within a few weeks to avoid degradation of the gasoline, which can negatively affect engine performance regardless of the quality of the oil used.
