Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sowing: Sow seeds outdoors directly into well-drained, fertile soil from March to August. For very early crops, sow in September and plan to overwinter. An earlier sowing can also be done indoors in modules.
Location: Plant in a location that receives full sun for the best growth and flavor.
Soil: Prefers fertile soil that is moist and well-drained. Incorporate compost or a balanced fertilizer before sowing to enrich the soil.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist to promote quick and tender growth. Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to rot.
Spacing: Sow seeds thinly in rows about 20-30 cm apart. Thin seedlings to about 5-10 cm apart once they have emerged.
Care: Ensure good air circulation around the plants. Monitor for pests and diseases, though this variety is generally quite hardy.
Compatibility: This variety is compatible with most garden soil types provided they are well-drained and fertile. It is also suitable for container gardening if the containers are deep enough and offer good drainage.
