FAQs

Are these skates suitable for beginners?

Yes, the Hot Tuna Fitness Skates are designed with stability and comfort in mind, making them a good choice for beginners looking to start recreational skating.

What kind of surfaces are these skates best for?

These skates are ideal for smooth, flat, and dry surfaces such as paved bike paths, sidewalks, and indoor roller rinks.

How do I ensure a proper fit?

Before skating, tighten all closure systems (laces, straps, buckles) until the skate feels snug and supportive around your foot and ankle, without causing discomfort or restricting circulation.

Can I use these skates for inline hockey or aggressive skating?

No, these skates are designed for fitness and recreational use only. They are not built to withstand the demands of high-impact activities like aggressive skating or competitive sports.

How should I clean my skates?

Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid submerging the skates in water or using harsh chemicals. Allow them to air dry completely.

What is the expected lifespan of the wheels?

The lifespan of the wheels depends on usage frequency, surface type, and maintenance. Regular cleaning and rotation can help extend their life.

Troubleshooting

Skates feel too tight or uncomfortable

Loosen the closure system (laces, straps, or buckles) and re-adjust for a snug but comfortable fit. Ensure your socks are of appropriate thickness.

Wheels are not spinning freely

Check the wheels for any visible debris or obstructions. If necessary, remove the wheels and clean the bearings according to manufacturer guidelines or replace them if worn.

Lack of stability while skating

Ensure the skates are securely fastened. Check that the boot is fitting snugly around your ankle. Practice on a flat, stable surface initially.

Wheels squeaking during use

This may indicate dry bearings. Applying a small amount of bearing lubricant might help, or consider cleaning and re-lubricating the bearings.
