The HOMCOM 42L Sensor Bin is designed for busy households and professional office environments seeking a hygienic, hands-free waste disposal solution. Its primary benefit is the infrared motion-sensor lid that minimizes contact with germs, though users should note that it requires batteries to operate, which are not always included in every regional distribution.

Standard 42L to 50L bin liners will fit comfortably within the internal rim of the bin.
The bin is moisture-resistant for kitchen use, but it should not be submerged in water or placed directly under running taps.
Yes, there is a manual override function that allows you to open and close the lid without the sensor.
Depending on usage and battery quality, batteries typically last between 3 to 6 months.
The finish is designed to be smudge-resistant, though it may still require a light wipe occasionally.
Check if the batteries are inserted correctly or replace them with a fresh set.
Ensure your hand remains within the sensor range or check for any obstructions near the sensor eye.
Move the bin slightly further away from high-traffic walking paths or cabinet doors that swing near the sensor.
To begin using the bin, insert the required batteries (typically D-cell or AA depending on the specific model run) into the battery compartment located under the lid. Ensure the sensor area is kept clear of debris or dust for maximum sensitivity. To clean, wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Avoid using abrasive scouring pads, as these can damage the brushed finish. Ensure that the sensor eye is wiped periodically to maintain responsiveness. The bin is compatible with standard 42L bin liners; using liners with drawstrings is recommended for easier removal.
