This guide is for crafters, designers, and engineers seeking strong, compact magnetic solutions. The B&Q Neodymium Magnets offer exceptional holding power in a small form factor, ideal for precise applications. A potential caveat is their strong pull, requiring careful handling to avoid pinching.

Neodymium is a rare earth element used to create very strong permanent magnets, often referred to as 'super magnets'.
Each magnet can support a steel weight of up to 5.4kg vertically when in flush contact with a mild steel surface.
The magnets have a triple coating of nickel, copper, and nickel which protects against corrosion, making them suitable for many environments. However, prolonged submersion in water is not recommended as it may eventually affect the coating.
Neodymium magnets have excellent resistance to demagnetization under normal conditions. However, exposure to very high temperatures (above 80°C or 176°F) can weaken them permanently.
Handle with care to avoid pinching fingers or damaging the magnets by letting them snap together forcefully. Keep them away from sensitive electronics and magnetic media.
It means the magnetic poles (North and South) are located on the two 25mm x 10mm rectangular faces of the magnet.
Due to their strong magnetic force and potential to chip, these magnets are not recommended for use by young children unsupervised.
Ensure the surface it is attaching to is clean, flat, and made of a suitable ferromagnetic material (e.g., mild steel). The holding force is maximum when in flush contact with a steel plate of adequate thickness. Attempting to hold weight perpendicular to the magnetic face on a thin surface will significantly reduce the effective pull.
Try to slide the magnets apart sideways rather than pulling directly. If they are strongly attracted, use a thin, non-magnetic material like plastic or wood to create a small gap and then carefully slide them apart.
This usually occurs when magnets snap together with significant force. Handle magnets gently and introduce them to each other slowly. Store them with protective spacers.
Setup: These magnets are ready to use out of the box. Simply bring them into proximity with a ferromagnetic material (like steel) or another magnet. Due to their strong pull, it is recommended to slide them apart rather than trying to pull them directly apart, especially when they are attracted to each other or a metal surface.
Compatibility: Neodymium magnets are compatible with most common materials. However, they strongly attract ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, and cobalt. Keep them away from sensitive electronic devices, magnetic storage media (like credit cards or hard drives), and pacemakers. They are compatible with woodworking, plastic, and various metals for integration into projects.
Care: To maintain their strength and appearance:
