This guide is for users of the Estwing Surestrike framing hammer. The hammer is ideal for professional framers and DIY enthusiasts needing a reliable tool for driving nails. A milled face provides superior grip, while the magnetic nail starter enhances convenience. Note that the hickory handle requires proper care to maintain its integrity.

Apply a wood sealant or oil to the handle regularly to prevent it from drying out and cracking.
The milled face provides better grip on the nail head, reducing the chance of the hammer slipping and damaging the wood.
If the milled face becomes worn, you can carefully use a file to restore the surface.
The magnetic nail starter holds the nail in place, allowing for one-handed starting and increasing accuracy.
While designed for framing, it can be used for general carpentry, but may be overkill for delicate tasks.
The hammer weighs 700g (1lb 9oz).
Always wear safety glasses when using the hammer to protect your eyes from flying debris.
Check the head-to-handle connection. Tighten or replace the handle if necessary.
Ensure you are hitting the nail head squarely. Check the hammer face for wear.
Clean the head with a wire brush and apply a thin coat of oil.
This hammer requires no setup. Ensure you have the correct safety equipment such as safety glasses before beginning work.
