Setup, Compatibility & Care
To set up your baseplate, begin by mounting your camera to the 501 plate, ensuring the orientation is correct for your preferred quick-release direction. If using a cinema riser, secure it using the anti-twist mounting points to ensure the camera remains fixed. Adjust the height by utilizing the ratchet knobs until your lens center meets your rod-mounted accessories. To maintain the equipment, periodically check the rail clamps to ensure they are free of debris. Always use the provided helicoil threaded holes for tripod mounting to avoid stripping the aluminum chassis; do not over-tighten screws, as the ratchet system provides ample pressure to secure your rig.
