Setup, Compatibility & Care
To begin cultivation, you must prepare the seeds by gently roughing the surface with sandpaper or a soft file, followed by a 12-hour soak in warm water to break dormancy. Plant the seeds in high-quality potting mix and ensure consistent warmth.
Ongoing care involves:
- Watering: Ensure the soil is damp but never waterlogged to avoid root rot.
- Fertilization: Apply a standard container plant fertilizer once weekly from April through September.
- Overwintering: Move the plant to a bright room with a minimum temperature of 8° Celsius before the first frost. Avoid drafts and extreme temperature fluctuations.
