The Cables Direct ERT-604 is a high-performance 4-meter Cat6 network cable designed for IT professionals and home office users requiring reliable, high-speed data transmission for Gigabit Ethernet networks. It offers superior crosstalk reduction compared to older standards, ensuring stable connections for streaming, gaming, and data transfer, though its 4-meter length may be restrictive for long-distance building runs where longer cabling is required.

Yes, Cat6 cables like the ERT-604 are fully backward compatible with Cat5 and Cat5e networking equipment.
Yes, the ERT-604 is capable of supporting standard PoE applications.
No, this model is a U/UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable.
This cable uses 24 AWG wire.
This cable is designed for indoor use. It does not have the weather-resistant jacket required for permanent outdoor exposure.
Ensure the RJ-45 plug is fully inserted into the port until it clicks. Test the cable on a different device to rule out port failure.
Inspect the cable for physical damage, kinks, or crushed sections. Avoid routing the cable directly alongside high-voltage power cables.
Verify that your networking hardware (router/switch) and device are both rated for Gigabit speeds. Ensure no other devices on the network are saturating the bandwidth.
To ensure optimal performance, avoid sharp bends or heavy tension on the cable, as this can degrade the internal twisted pair alignment. The ERT-604 is compatible with any hardware utilizing standard RJ-45 ports, including modems, patch panels, and smart TVs. Installation is straightforward: insert the male RJ-45 connector into the device port until you hear a distinct click. When routing the cable, keep it away from power lines to minimize potential electromagnetic interference. To maintain the life of the cable, periodically inspect the connectors for dust or damage and store in a cool, dry environment if not in use.
