Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure success, plant your 'Banja Luka' bulbs during the autumn months in a sunny, well-drained location. Dig a hole approximately 10-15cm deep, placing the bulb with the pointed end facing upward. Space each bulb roughly 10cm apart to allow for proper airflow and root development. If planting in containers, use a quality multipurpose compost mixed with a little grit to guarantee excellent drainage. After planting, water the area lightly to settle the soil. Avoid areas where water tends to pool, as constant dampness can cause the bulbs to rot during the winter months. Once flowering finishes in late spring, allow the foliage to die back naturally before removing it, as this allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
