Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Gather the hardwiring kit, your dash cam, and any necessary tools (fuse puller, wire strippers, etc.).
- Fuse Box Access: Locate your vehicle's fuse box. Consult your owner's manual for its location and fuse layout.
- Fuse Selection: Identify suitable fuses for constant power (for Parking Mode) and switched power (for normal driving). Avoid fuses related to critical systems.
- Fuse Tap Installation: Connect the appropriate fuse tap to the selected fuse slots, ensuring proper orientation.
- Wiring: Connect the hardwiring kit's wires to the fuse taps and ground the ground wire to a suitable grounding point on the vehicle's chassis.
- Dash Cam Connection: Plug the micro USB connector into your Road Angel dash cam.
- Testing: Start the vehicle and check if the dash cam powers on and begins recording. Verify Parking Mode functionality by turning off the ignition and checking for continuous recording or standby mode.
Compatibility
The Road Angel Hardwiring Kit is designed for the Road Angel Halo Go/Drive dash cams. The kit is compatible with most vehicles due to the variety of fuse tap options included (ATO, Micro2, Mini, and Low Profile Mini).
Care
- Regular Checks: Periodically inspect the wiring and connections for any signs of wear or damage.
- Fuse Replacement: If a fuse blows, replace it with a fuse of the correct amperage.
- Professional Inspection: Have the hardwiring kit and connections inspected by a professional if you experience any issues.
